UPDATE: Cezar's Treatment Plan
The mass is growing fast and is now pushing Cezar's gums outward. From 4cmx4cm last January, it is now at around 5cmx6cm. Our onco doctor has drafted a treatment plan based on all the info we have to date (it may still change depending on the staining results we will get on Monday).
The goal is to shrink the mass until it's safe to operate. Radiotherapy will start as soon as staining results are in. This will be done at St. Luke's Monday to Friday. Chemotherapy (if needed) will be in UERM every Monday. The mass will be assessed and if proven to be responsive to treatment (and once all minimum requirements are met) will be removed surgically asap.
The right eye has to go. Based on the MRI scans, the tumor has invaded the orbital floor. Cezar now has double vision in this eye. He has no second thoughts in having this eye removed. He wants the cancer out of his body as soon as possible (on a funny note, he's looking forward to next Halloween).
We can't wait to start his healing process. Again we are asking for prayers and more prayers. God is the ultimate healer and with the help of great doctors and medical science (and love and lots of positive energy from everyone), we know we can make it through this.
