February 23rd

Cezar's Treatment Plan

The staining result from Providence is consistent with the result from UERM. That being said, our medical oncologist believes that the best way to reduce the size of the tumor is to do radiotherapy along with chemotherapy. We are scheduled to have a PET CT scan on Feb 27 to check if the cancer has spread to other parts of the body (praying that God won't let this happen).

We have been referred to a radiation oncologist and we are now in the prep stage of Cezar's radiotherapy treatment. He will be undergoing IMRT for 35 days (M-F every week). IMRT reduces the risk of damage to the organs closest to the tumor. The tumor will be reassessed on day 20 or 21 to know if it has gotten smaller. If it has, there will be no need to finish the 35 days and we can start prepping for the surgery (God willing!)

Our anesthesiologist has given us a new set of meds and they seem to be working great although Cezar spends more time sleeping now. His appetite is still the same and he eats everything I prepare for him. He is ready to fight, and with your help and prayers I know he will make it.

The mass seems to be getting bigger as it is starting to protrude through his gums but his pain is well managed for now. I ask for more prayers for my husband and I hope God hears all our prayers and make things tolerable if not easy for him.

I'll post updates as soon as I can. Thank you again for everything and may God bless us all.
